Who We Are
In Brief
Trinity Counseling Service (TCS) is a private, not-for-profit, 501 (c) (3), community counseling service providing comprehensive and compassionate care to residents of the greater Princeton area. Founded in 1968, TCS is well respected for its child, family and adult mental health services, programs and projects.
Our unique combination of highly trained and licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, counselors and pastoral counselors are dedicated to providing effective mental health therapy to all in need regardless of their ability to pay. As such, we accept many insurance plans, and in the absence of insurance coverage, we use a sliding fee scale. We neither apply for nor receive government money. Unlike most other mental health agencies, we have no maximum allowable number of sessions or minimum fees. No one who comes to us is ever turned away because of an inability to afford counseling.
To meet the gap between the actual cost of therapy and a client’s ability to pay, we rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations, trusts and foundations who partner with us to realize our mission of compassionate care.
Licensed by the State of New Jersey, we are a fiscally sound and tightly administered agency located in the heart of Princeton. We hire experienced clinicians licensed at the highest level in their disciplines. The average length of our clinician’s affiliation with Trinity Counseling Service is fifteen years. All provide direct, individual therapy to clients.
TCS receives approximately 43% of its revenues from individual donors, 31% from client fees and third party reimbursements, and 26% from corporations, foundations, trusts, churches and other initiatives.
