Projects in Brief

Assessment Center

Psychological Testing of Adults:

  • Personality, Behavioral and Cognitive Assessments
  • Vocational and Career Interests
  • Psychological Evaluations of Candidates for Ordained Ministry

Psycho-educational Testing of Children:

  • Academic and Cognitive Strengths and Weaknesses.
  • Processing and Learning Styles, including attention levels, language, memory, visual and auditory input.
  • Levels of Social and Emotional Development.

Bereavement and Caregiver Counseling:

  • Bereavement: Help coping after the death of a spouse, parent, or child.
  • Caregiving: Help coping during the care of a loved one suffering from a chronic, debilitating disease.

Childhood Intervention Initiative:

A project run in tandem with the Princeton Nursery School and the Princeton Regional School System with the goal of catching a child’s problem before it spirals out of control. This is early intervention to address behavioral and developmental problems.
 

TCS LEADERS:

This stands for Training Confident Student LEADERS. It provides a group of 12 Eighth Graders training to improve self-awareness, self-confidence, social skills and leadership skills. This project is a collaborative effort with the John Witherspoon Middle School in Princeton.
 

Family Consulting:

Sometimes, a few sessions with a counselor can strengthen a healthy family at normal stages of development when stress is high and coping skills may be low. These sessions are intermittent, occurring throughout the life span of a family, and are offered on an as needed basis.

Preparing for and Enriching Marriage

Marriage is a big commitment. Among other things, we help couples prepare for and enrich their marriage by

  • Identifying their expectations and hopes for their marriage.
  • Understanding how their personality types and differences influence their relationship.
  • Recognizing how extended family issues affect their marriage.
  • Coping with the unique circumstances and stresses of their marital situation.

Wellness Workshops

We address congregations, corporations and civic groups on such topics as:

  • Communication Skills in Marriage
  • Effective Parenting
  • Illness and family
  • Stress Management
